Updated 14 October 2026

anymado translate lives in the menu bar. Select something, press ⌘C twice, and its meaning appears next to it.

What you need

macOS 27 or later. Natural uses the Apple Intelligence model, so it needs Apple Intelligence turned on.

First steps

  • Select text in any app and press ⌘C twice. Another shortcut is set in Settings › Shortcuts.
  • To translate a part of the screen, choose Translate Screen… in the same menu; for sound, Translate Audio….
  • Open the main window from the menu for longer text, files and pictures. Help › Show Welcome Tour runs the tour again.

Languages

Quick translates the languages Apple Translation supports. macOS downloads a pair the first time you use it; you can manage them in System Settings › General › Language & Region › Translation Languages. Natural follows the languages of the Apple Intelligence model.

If something doesn’t work

  • Nothing happens on ⌘C twice: check that the app is in the menu bar, that the shortcut is on in Settings, and that Device Control and Data Access or Paste from Other Apps is allowed in System Settings › Privacy & Security. Some apps don’t let their text be copied; translate a part of the screen instead.
  • A language is missing: download it in Translation Languages, above.
  • Natural isn’t available: turn on Apple Intelligence in System Settings.
